The Brief: How do you sell a seaside wedding venue as an all seasons option for couples?

The Pitch: Brisbane House, your perfect day

Brisbane House is a stunning wedding venue in Largs run by the Mannorview group. We were brought in for a brand refresh and to diagnose and solve a regular slump in bookings over the winter period.

The solution was finding what made the venue incredible and tuning the brand voice to match.

 

For Brisbane house this was a rejection of the stuffy, stiff & tired tradition in favour of a human touch conveyed through film photography, genuine and messy joy and candid human moments

Why it works: Working with a very limited budget we were able to provide a healthy catalogue of imagery for the brand that shows off the ring and provides a depth of content for future use. The campaign positions the brand clearly without relying on celebrity or big budget wow factor whilst maintaining a level of polish that a ubiquitous brand like Reebok demands.

The second half of the pitch was differentiating Brisbane House from the other venue's owned and operated by the Mannorview group. The easy and obvious answer was the proximity to the beach but that aspect of the business was well understood by the customer base and had been flogged to death by previous campaigns. 

Instead we looked at the atmosphere of the venue and the kinds of customers that the space would appeal to. What we found was a rejection of the pretentious, a refreshing antidote to the stiff formality of a traditional Scottish wedding. The question therefore became, how to we depict and communicate a rejection of stuffy tradition visually?

The first solution was simple: real couples with real stories, not polished and perfect models participating in a staged wedding shoot. An Audience can feel when what they are watching is genuine and we were extremely fortunate to be allowed to capture the chaos and ernestness of a real couple on short notice. The second was more technical, capture the event naturally and imperfectly making the campaign feel like a polished home movie rather than a commercial.

The result? A deeply personal and bespoke invitation into the world of Brisbane house that highlights the strengths of the venue without pigeon holing to a single season
